How to name your blog... Don't take it personal.
Choosing a name for your website is a hard, personal decision. In naming your website/blog, you may solicit opinions or you might make the decision on your own and then opinions are given. It'll bother you for years if it turns out the people with opinions were right and you were hard headed...
How Do You Take Your Coffee?
I can only drink black coffee with dessert. Christopher has described the latest edition of The Christopher Chronicles as "delectable", so you might want to give this combo a try. Your coffee may be bitter with no cream or sugar, so you might be spitting it out either way...
Some things change. Some things remain the same.
Four years ago today I wrote, "I hope I will still be writing in this blog – no matter what." It's kinda cool that I am still here. For better or for worse, for richer or for poorer...
I was inspired by motherhood to be who I am
Alas, I am not the old mother in the shoe, nor have I ever been the type. When asked how come I don't have any more children, I can come up with a whole laundry list of truths.
A Look Inside The Christopher Chronicles 2.0
Christopher's adjective to describe this book is "DELECTABLE" - like DEEE-LICIOUS. Delectable is a word that I thought he made up years ago. The first time he said it, he was being pulled in a wagon by Granddaddy to an ice cream shop. After eating his ice cream, he said, "MMMM DEEEELECTABLE!"
Book Cover Reveal and FREE Book Marketing Resources
The Christopher Chronicles 2.0 has been like putting together a puzzle. I've had the innards, but the book design was the missing piece. It's hard to put together a puzzle without the edges...
I went back to the drawing board...
Yesterday didn't quite go as planned. My team lost the Super Bowl for one. But leading up to that I burnt dinner and I had to go back to the drawing board. I've been getting up at 5:00 am for countless days straight, so being tired and burnt beans had everything to do with my bad mood yesterday. Fortunately, the schools were on a two-hour delay today and I gave myself an extra hour in bed. So I've got a little pep back in my still grumpy step.
The Christopher Chronicles 2.0 is Coming Soon!
It's February 1st! Wow, last month flew by. Did I say that already? This time, I'm not sad about it about because I worked January like a boss and I'm getting up at 5:00 am for my peaceful hour, like a champ.

"Mom are you famous?
Today I've been featured in Kokoa - an online magazine that focuses on the REAL life of people - not the rich and famous. You can check out my interview by clicking here.
I would love for you to leave a comment there, especially if you've read the book.
A Rookie Mistake...
This week I am participating in a mini blog challenge where Monday's prompt is a Blog Commercial or Confessions of A Blogger. I am throwing my link in the ring combining the prompt in a confessions of a first time author kind of way...
I'll worry about that tomorrow...
I freed my mind from worrying about what I should do, what I haven't done, what hasn't happened yet or how to make it happen.
Throughout the year moments will come to me where I'll say, "If I just had a day to myself..." Ha! So much for that. After I realized I wasn't getting anywhere forcing inspiration in my quiet time, I downloaded an audiobook and proceeded to clean.

I sold five books to a cheapskate...
“Will people who purchased the first book want the second edition. Most of my co-workers purchased the first edition and I was thinking about buying a second edition for them. What do you think?”
Cookies and Books!
The Deployed Military Support Group at my church sends out over 150 care packages to our troops on a monthly basis. On December 6th, they will have a box packing to mail out over 200 boxes of homemade cookies to our deployed troops....
A needle in a haystack!
Hey look! Did you notice that I cleaned up the place? No? Okay well it might be one of those things only I notice. I need some help though. Can you help me get a needle out of a haystack?
Creative Marketing...
Thanks to a 5 minute stream of consciousness I can go ahead and make an announcement that for the life of me I am stressing about the right timing. I love the 5-minute brain dump because I have permission to write and not worry about grammar or mistakes. Today’s writing prompt revised slightly, What do you wish you were better at?
Peppered with Wit...
This week I had a fleeting thought about what it would feel like to close my laptop, forget social media, writing in my blog, promoting my book and just live a nor...
"What's baptized?"
This year I started reading a day by day children’s bible to Christopher as a bedtime story. My mom gave him this book when he was three but the stories did not hold his attention. To keep him from having bad dreams at night I suggested that we start reading the bible and he agreed. We read several stories a night.
