Letter To Shelter-At-Home Cooks

Dear Cooks,

Just so happens this weeks writing prompt is “What’s cookin’?”

It’s been a long month in the kitchen hasn’t it? We haven’t done take out or anything. I’ve been cooking dinner almost everyday and wishing for ideas to fall out of the sky. I don’t enjoy spending half a day looking for a recipes on the internet. I would be fully cooperative if SOMEONE would just tell me what they’d like to eat.

One of my classmates shared a meal on facebook earlier this week and I jumped on a Instacart grocery list.

Sharing is caring, so I shared it too! I hadn’t even cooked yet when I took this photo.

So the end result was FANTABULOUS!

Raw

Cooked

Plated

My boys like sauce on everything so I knew that I had to come up with something. I googled Shrimp Taco Sauce and found two that were perfect. I thought I’d use one or the other, but they were both tasty so I put both on mine and added a little cheese.

For this Shrimp Taco Sauce, I didn’t have cilantro but don’t think that would have gone over well anyway. I sprinkled in a little dill.

For this Creamy Sriracha sauce, I used ranch dressing and Sriracha sauce. The recipe on this page looks really good too.

I don't know what’s for dinner tonight but the leftovers are mine. This recipe is a keeper.

Sporadically Yours, Kenya

This post is linked up with Finish the Sentence Friday, where the writing prompt this week is - "What’s cooking’?..." Hosted by Kristi Campbell & co-hosted this week by Mardra Sikora. Hopefully we will all find some recipes that will get us through another week.
