Letter To The Blog About Television

Dear Blog,

Sorry I've left you hanging for so long. I just didn’t want to come here and write about how I was feeling because in the future I do not want to remember this year.

Sigh.

Anyway I'm writing in a journal app that I downloaded at the beginning of the year. It finally has the feature that I wanted to it have back in January. I wanted to physically write in it with the Apple Pencil and not use a keyboard to type. Sometimes I do very well with a keyboard when I’m writing with a purpose, but when I'm free writing I do better pen to paper. Except I don't like pen to paper. I like digital stuff.

As I write this in my chicken scratch cursive, the iPad’s ‘scribble’ feature is converting my writing to text which is awesome. When I’m done, I'll be able to copy and paste into my blog.

So if I'm going to jump right back in with a blog post today, I've got to start somewhere. I'm going with the Day One’s prompt for today which is, “What TV shows are you currently watching?” I've been slowly watching Call the Midwife on Netflix. I think I started it in March, on someone's recommendation. I cry on almost every episode. I'm am more emotional this year than I've ever been in my life. It's so easy to cry. Call the Midwife is a trigger.

There was a character on Guiding Light back in the day who cried so easily and seemingly about everything. Her character name was Reva. I'm Reva. I found ‘Reva’ on Youtube - real name Kim Zimmer. All I did was google Guiding Light Reva crying. I watched for 32 seconds and started laughing. Apparently it’s easy for Kim Zimmer to cry in real life too. It’s sweet.

So anyway, I'm currently taking a break from Call the Midwife because the last two episodes had me

:((

I won't say where I am because my mom is watching and she's behind me. I told her that I was taking a break until she catches up. If you watched Call the Midwife and you want to chat about where I left off, just leave me a comment and I'll email you back.

I've watched other shows in between. The one that jumps out is ‘Away’ on Netflix. It was so good. Thanks Kristi for the recommendation. I started Away on a Thursday and watch one episode, then by Sunday I was done. I still prefer reading to watching anything, and usually have several books going at once. But it's nice to have a show when I want something to watch.

Google nest Hub

Speaking of gadget features, the Google Nest Hub got a nice software upgrade this year. Previously you’d only been able to look at YouTube. Now I can watch Netflix, Hulu and Disney+ while I’m in the kitchen cleaning, cooking and or making coffee.

What are you watching and where do you watch?

Sporadically Yours, Kenya
